We knew there was better way

At Chain Reaction eCommerce, we trace our roots back to the 2000 start of osCommerce, an open-source ecommerce program that first made shopping cart software affordable for the average online retailer. As an open-source program, osCommerce is available to a community of developers to edit, improve and expand upon.

Our founders started off as developers in this community. Due to high demand, they created the CRE Loaded branch of the osCommerce shopping cart. Over the years, they’ve obsessed over the details and have improved an already popular program.

Maybe that’s why CRE Loaded’s first two versions have been used by nearly 200,000 stores worldwide.

Now, we enter a new chapter: Shopping-cart software that’s compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) data standards and fully integrated with the CRE Secure™ payment system.

With CRE Secure, we wanted to create a PCI-compliant online payment system that could integrate with and mimic virtually any website that accepts credit cards. That desire was rooted in our customers’ deep frustration with PayPal and other “out of scope” secure payment services such as Google Checkout. When shoppers are ready to check out, they’re sent to these services’ own branded sites…instead of your branded site.

Now, that doesn’t sound right, does it? We didn’t think so either.
