1.1 Summary description of program

What is Content Director?

• Content Director adds world-class Content Management capabilities to CRE Loaded software.
• Version 1.0 of CDS (Content Director System) focuses on enhancing Page Creation and Site Navigation.
• Additional types of content handling will be introduced in future releases or add-ons to CDS.

What makes Content Director Unique?

• Its the only content system that runs on CRE Loaded and can use existing CRE Loaded templates.
• Administration is easy, because it is based on the popular and familiar CRE Loaded / osCommerce Admin tool.
• Automatic lists and menus build your site as you create content.
• CDS introduces several new special features to help you build the site that you want, including URL Override and Auxiliary Content Files.

1.2 Intended Audience for this User Manual

This user manual is written for the store owner or operator with some FTP and web-publishing experience.

1.3 Required program

This program is intended to be used with CRE Loaded 6.2 (Standard, Pro or Pro B2B) stores that have not been modified after installation AND have Patch 11 or greater installed.

1.4 Minimum System Software Requirements

Before you can install this product, you must have an unmodified CRE 6.2 or above store on a web server with the following:

• PHP 4.1.x or later with:
• GD Library
• mCrypt
• Register Globals set to ON
  • by using either httpd.conf, php.ini or .htaccess
    
• Apache Web Server
• MySQL database
• The Linux Operating System
• phpMyAdmin or another MySQL management program
• CRE Loaded Patch 11 MUST be installed and tested before running the CDS program.

Optional System Software:

In addition to the software required above, you will find the following software helpful:

• php editor program such as PHP Edit
• Code comparison program such as Beyond Compare by Scooter Software
• WinZip or another compression program, and
• FTP program such as CuteFTP.
